Ducati Monster 800 - 2005 (5000 miles)
This was my first Ducati, I got the bike at 3000 miles, and it was in very mint condition. Aside from the bald tires, it was in very good shape. I bought it because I was waiting for my R1100s to comeback from the shop, after it broke on the cross country trip. I rode it, just a little over a year before someone backed into it in the parking lot. I was not on the bike, I decided to park it in a parking space instead of on the sidewalk. Big mistake. It was literally the day before I was to take it down to Deals Gap for the first time. It was totaled cosmetically, I got some money for it, and sold the bike to Jeff. It's still one of my favorite bikes. Albeit, it is a small bike, and I do look like a monkey humping a football. I got a Sargent seat for the bike, rear suspension modified for my weight, front forks modified for my weight, along with MIVV exhaust, and Rizoma bar ends.
This is how I had the bike set up, with anchors on the beam, since it did not have a center stand, i use the hoist to work on the front forks. Rear spring upgrade was red, and it matched the rest of the bike very well. I purchased a Sargent seat from some one local, but was missing the bumpers under the seat, and I was able to order them from Sargent cycles for a nominal fee.
MIVV Exhaust
First time buying an exhaust, I got the MIVV reverse cone. Beautiful exhaust, and very deep sound. But I did lose torque from the low end. It was definitely noticeable. Valve adjustment were done and the valves were in spec and never needed adjustment. Beautiful bike, and never fixed anything but changed the oil and put in the gasoline.
