Ducati Hyperstrada 821 - 2014 (11,000 miles)
I bought the Ducati brand new from Coleman Powersport in the Summer of 2015. It was a 2014 last model, and they gave me a sweet deal on it. It was still in the crate when I bought it. They assembled it and I rode away on it the same day. This was the first new bike I bought, and while I must say it was fantastic feeling of owning a new bike, she was too pretty for me. I was constantly worried about her getting potentially scratched or damaged. I changed the oil at 200 miles, then at 500, 1000, 3000, 6000, 9000. Excessive? absolutely, but it was my first new bike. I took it down to the Deals Gap on the first weekend.
The thing that bugged me the most about the bike, was that it was so inconsistent the amount of mileage you would get out of it. On the way down to Deals Gap, I took one tank to 195 miles and still had more fuel left when I gassed up. On the way back, It ran out of fuel at 180 miles. So now I'm always paranoid when the fuel would be empty. I love Ducati, I love the buckling the wild horse feeling of their L twin motor. The power was impressive, and it has never had any electronic glitches for me, for all the 2.5 years I owned it. It is also the first bike I didn't put any money into it. Only thing I bought was the rear wheel service tool, because it needs a huge socket that I didn't have. I didn’t make any modification, just gas and ride.
Sold to a local moto enthusiast Steve Martin. Still see it from time to time.
